Appeals Process

Applicants for the Smart Start Workforce Grants have the right to appeal if they believe either of the following applies:

 

  • Reason for ineligibility is incorrect
  • Approved funding amount is incorrect
  • If you have a night shift

 

Appeals will need to be sent in writing to grants@inccrra.org by the stated dead line for the round that is open.

The appeals will need to include the following information:

 

  • A completed appeal from ( they can be found here: https://www.ilgateways.com/smart-start/672-smart-start-workforce-grants#appeals )
  •  A copy of your DCFS License
  • Documentation that shows that the program is open and serving children (this will include the number of classrooms and CCAP Eligibility, which can be requested from your local CCR&R)
  • Email communication or documentation that shows that you have been in contact with either the INCCRRA Help Desk or your specific counselor regarding any issues that you have been experiencing that were keeping you from being able to submit your application. (The communications must show the specific issue that was occurring).

 

The decisions made regarding the appeal are final.
